Overnight rain has caused delays on Tauranga’s Bay Hopper network this morning. Overnight rain has flooded the Go Bus depot, preventing buses from leaving the depot, as well as flooding some buses.

Bay of Plenty Transport Policy Manager Garry Maloney said the regional council apologised for any inconvenience the delays would cause passengers, however he assured them that Go Bus was working as quickly as possible to get the service up and running.

At this time it will take a couple of hours to get buses out of the depot, so we would advise bus travelers to make other arrangements or delay their trip if possible.

He expected the service would be running later this morning.
