Prisoner returned to custody

Christchurch Police have advised that William Steven Cooper, who escaped from custody at Christchurch District Court earlier this week, has been located and is now in custody.

Cooper was arrested without incident during an unrelated operation in the city last night, and was taken to the Christchurch Police Station. He is expected to appear in court on Monday.
