ANOTHER NEW ZEALAND GROUP TO OPEN FOR ELTON JOHN THIS DECEMBER!

IN 2006 SENSATIONAL WELLINGTON BAND `PEARL’ OPENED FOR SIR ELTON AND THEN WENT ONTO OPEN FOR ERIC CLAPTON. THIS YEAR THE CAPITAL AGAIN PROVIDES THE SOURCE OF MUSICAL TALENT WITH PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE `STRIKE’ WHO WILL ISSUE IN THE BIGGEST CONCERT EVER PRESENTED AT THE TSB BOWL OF BROOKLANDS NEW PLYMOUTH.

Founded in 1993, STRIKE is a high energy drumming group made up of New Zealand’s most outstanding percussionists. ``The Groups physical and visual presence is what made the choice easy,’’ says promoter Phil Sprey at Capital C: Concerts. ``We are always very supportive of New Zealand's emerging talent and at the same time careful to match the genre to the occasion, so what do you pick to open for a solo rock pianist?’’ says Sprey, ``Traditional bands, singers and the like seemed safe but STRIKE offered a vibrancy that will ignite the audience and heighten the expectation of marquee artist.’’

STRIKE has performed internationally and well as in New Zealand. STRIKE runs an extensive schools touring program throughout New Zealand.

In 2007 Strike has spent two months working in China under the auspices of the NZ Ministry of Culture and Heritage. Undertaken a seven performance season in Hong Kong, as well as presenting in The Cube in Wellington.

With only a couple of thousand seats left ons ale the group is looking forward to the date on December 6 in Tranaki.
