Mastering the craftsmanship of cars; whether perfecting promotional graphics or restoring them to their former glory is all in a day’s work for Queenstown auto-enthusiast Peter Green – a key sponsor at the Queenstown Auto Extravaganza (25-27 February).
As Managing Director of the Central Otago-based Vincent Holdings Ltd, (www.vincentholdings.com) Mr Green has motoring expertise spanning more than 25 years in the region. His handiwork and that of his skilled team will be on exhibition at the Extravaganza’s ‘Salon of Style’ and New Zealand motor racing exhibition, hosted at Queenstown Event Centre on Saturday 26 February.
Mr Green said he’ll bring a 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage and 2010 Ford Focus RS 500 to the event, however many Queenstowners may recognise Vincent’s artwork from vehicles and craft owned by local tourism operators Shotover Jet, Dart River Safaris and Two Paddocks Winery; to name a few.
“From high-end performance cars with all the pizzazz and mod-cons to much older models with classic archetypal features we will be showcasing the cars of local people, and the workmanship of our team, alongside some of New Zealand’s finest motors,” said Mr Green.
“We’re going to see an amazing, diverse range of cars, all side by side at this event. And it’s all for a good cause.”
The Vincent Holdings restoration portfolio includes a 1930 V16 Cadillac, 1929 V8 Cadillac and a 1951 MG FY150. The company also specialises in panel, upholstery and signage, and works with clients in the automotive, aviation and marine industry.
The indoor ‘Salon on Style’ is an event-first for Queenstown Auto Extravaganza and aims to compare and contrast a wide range of cars of style across the motoring era.
The event takes place as part of the three-day Queenstown Auto Extravaganza, which has been organized to help raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
All cars have been specially invited from around the country in order to give a true reflection of the range of styles and modifications across the motoring era.
Queenstown Auto Extravaganza activities are scheduled to start on Friday 25 February with a 200-strong Evening Car Cruise to a ‘mystery’ photographic location. On Saturday 26 the Rilean “What’s in your Garage?” outdoor public car show takes place alongside Queenstown’s first indoor Vincent Holdings ‘Salon of Style’ NZ Motor racing exhibition at Queenstown Events Centre.
Saturday night the Solid Gold FM Blues Party Night is followed on Sunday 27 with the QT Rides ‘Eighth Mile’ Car Sprint racing some of the biggest and fastest cars from the show.
Tickets for the Vincent Holdings ‘Salon of Style’ and NZ Motor Racing exhibition are priced at $10 and $5 for children. Under 5’s go free. All ticket to the Queenstown Auto Extravaganza events or a Gold Pass to the whole event can be purchased online at www.queenstowncarshow.co.nz/tickets/.
