The concept behind Office Chairs direct was borne through business frustrations. Richard moved his team from their Auckland Viaduct office to new premises on St Georges Bay Road in Parnell, as part of the move Richard needed to acquire new office chairs and boardroom chairs. Richard said;

“I therefore decided to do some research about the wholesale cost of office chairs, and was surprised (or not!) to discover the obscene mark-ups that retail shops charge on these chairs’.

Having seen a gap in the market, Richard decided to initially launch his own office chairs shop online (www.office-chairs.co.nz) with the express idea of providing New Zealander’s value for money.
