Seeing all the Kiwis get behind the relief effort as well as heaps of overseas people is a testament to how cool Christchurch will always be and how choice Kiwis are.

The blokes at Iconic kiwi were just about to launch their  "What's your Iconic kiwi story" when the earthquake hit so they put the brakes on and thought "how can we help out"

Without trying to undermine the tragic events which have occurred in Christchurch they decided to raise money by creating some lighthearted auctions with a little Kiwi humour.

They grabbed one of the prizes from their prize bag (1,000 Pineapple Lumps) and spent a few days creating a series of fund raising auctions on Trademe. There are currently over 50 Iconic kiwi Pineapple Lump Auctions running each with a unique little twist of No8 wire mentality behind how they created the auctions.

They have things like "Magic Pineapple Castle Building Lumps" "The Scientific Pineapple Lump" and "Two Pineapple Lumps looking for an Open minded Jaffa" (Flatmates wanted).

Trademe have got behind them and are paying for the fees so that means all the monies will go to the Red Cross. Travelbug (Trademe's Accommodation Section have also been really supportive in assisting the blokes at Iconic Kiwi with getting funding for the treasure hunt prize for the hunt through Trademe. The prize being a weekend at Terrace Downs in Christchurch. The winner of this prize gets to donate this prize to a Christchurch family of their choice.
