An 18 year old unemployed Greerton man was arrested shortly after 8.00am this morning, 05 April 2011, after he fled from Police on a stolen motorcycle.

Police were at a Tom Muir Drive address on an unrelated matter when the motorcycle went by. The rider was signalled to stop and failed to do so. He led Police along several streets for no more than two minutes, eventually coming to a halt in Coopers Road where he surrendered to Police.

The man has been charged with receiving the motorcycle, driving while disqualified, failing to stop and reckless driving. He has been bailed to appear in the tauranga District Court on Friday 08 April 2011.
