Three days into a four day match between the Otago Volts and the Wellington Firebirds, Otago’s opening bowler Neil Wagner has today created cricket history taking five wickets in a six ball over.
Commentator Steve Davey said this was a world first for first class cricket.
“This is an incredible performance. There have been five people out in a six ball over before, but that included a run out. Wagner will make world cricket history today.”
The Firebirds scored 148 all out in reply to the Volts 1st innings score of 441. The match continues this afternoon and is due for completion tomorrow.
This match marks the end of the domestic first class season.
