GENEROUS “weeding” by staff over the past year will ensure a wide selection of stock for the Feilding Public Library’s 12th annual book sale next week.

More than 4000 books, as well as some DVDs, videos and CDs, will be available for the six-day sale beginning at 10am on Monday, May 2.

Library Manager, Simon Johnson, said the books generated an all-round appeal for readers and he expected heavy demand for subjects such as cooking, landscaping, travel and fiction.
“There is a lot of good material ranging from popular non-fiction titles through to children’s picture books,” he said.

Mr Johnson said close to half the material was usually shifted on the first day and he anticipated another eager “first in, first served” rush of buyers outside the doors on the first morning.

Prices ranged from $5 for coffee table-sized non-fiction to $1 for children’s titles. All books left on Thursday and Friday would be $1 and people could “help themselves” on Saturday to what was left.

Funds raised would go towards buying new stock.
