The Hamilton-based, world leading airline pilot training organisation, CTC Aviation Training (NZ) Limited, is looking for new trainees from the Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch areas.

As part of a major recruiting push for the Jetstar Cadet Programme, CTC will bring their airline pilot careers national roadshow to each of the three centres.

Potential trainees will get the opportunity to learn more about airline pilot career opportunities around the world by attending one of the events. The specific focus of the events will centre on the Jetstar Cadet Programme launched last year.

The most recent graduates of CTC’s Jetstar programme have now taken up their positions as first officers with the Australian carrier, one of the fastest growing airlines across the Asia Pacific region. "We are pleased that our Jetstar alliance has been successful in providing New Zealanders with promising career opportunities,” says CTC Aviation Training (NZ) Limited CEO, Ian Calvert.

CTC’s Jetstar Cadet Programme offers successful applicants a career development path into Jetstar. Successful graduates of the programme begin their careers operating as a First Officer on one of the airline’s growing fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.

According to Mr Calvert, CTC’s current recruiting focus is for people looking to take up the Jetstar Ab-Initio Cadet Programme. The programme, intended for candidates with limited or no previous flying experience, runs for 18 months.

“The benefit of training with CTC lies in our reputation as an organisation that works with our graduates to help them gain positions as airline pilots,” explained Mr Calvert. “Our goal is to secure first officer roles for 100% of our trainees after graduation.”

According to Mr Calvert, career opportunities in the industry have never looked better as worldwide demand for pilots is growing. He predicts this surge will continue throughout the next few years with many of the current requests for pilots coming from airlines across the Asia Pacific region.

For aspiring aviation pilots wanting to take advantage of the increase in worldwide demand, CTC’s airline pilot career roadshow events will provide all the answers to the questions surrounding the Jetstar programme. Topics covered during the event include: entry criteria, training syllabus and employment opportunities.

Additionally, the CTC team at the roadshows will provide information on topics such as the commercial pilot’s licence requirements; opportunities available for both low experience and qualified pilots; diplomas in aviation science; flight instructor courses and CTC’s instructional techniques courses.

People wanting to visit CTC’s Crew Training Centre in Hamilton are invited to a public open day on Saturday 18 June. Potential trainees will have the chance to see the company’s training fleet of Diamond and Cessna G1000 (glass cockpit) equipped aircraft. Attendees will also see the simulators in action, tour the facilities and talk to CTC’s team of training captains, flight instructors and cadets throughout the day.
