Summit Quinphos has released a patented new product, which enables farmers to easily apply elemental sulphur, Agrotain-treated urea and lime together.
pHased S, the newest addition to Summit Quinphos’ Granmax range, is a uniquely compacted granule, ideally suited to all spreaders including aerial applicators.
Initially available in the North Island, pHased S enables farmers to apply essential nutrients in a single application. It contains finely ground elemental sulphur, which is converted to plant available sulphate sulphur by naturally occurring soil bacteria.
The lime content in the product helps counteract sulphur’s natural acidity and in many cases eliminates the need to separate maintenance top dressings of lime.
“The combination of sulphur, lime and nitrogen is a cost effective option for farmers wanting to offset soil acidity and boost pasture production, especially if they are reliant on aerial top dressing. pHased S is designed to meet the need to get maximum nutrients on the ground in a single application,” says Summit Quinphos General Manager Willie Thomson.
pHased S is produced at Te Poi in the Waikato. It is suitable for mixing with a wide range of other materials including Cloverking, Summit Quinphos’ reactive phosphate rock (RPR) based fertiliser, again minimising application costs while maximising pasture productivity.
