Improvements to Metro bus services from this Monday, May 30

From Monday May 30, bus services will return to Colombo St in the Sydenham area. At the same time the 5 Southshore service will also return to Rockinghorse Rd on selected trips. There are also changes to school services for some relocated schools.

Colombo St in Sydenham: This change affects the 8 Hoon Hay, 10 Cashmere, 11 Westmorland, 12 Murray Aynsley, 14 Dyers Pass, 15 Beckenham and 28 Lyttelton and Rapaki services.

On trips to the Parkside Bus Exchange, Hagley Ave, these services will now travel up Colombo St through Sydenham turning left into Moorhouse Ave and right into Selwyn St, continuing on via their normal routes to Parkside.

On trips departing from the Parkside Bus Exchange these services will continue travelling via Oxford Tce and Durham St South as far as Sandyford St. They will turn left into Sandyford St and right into Colombo St through Sydenham, continuing on their normal routes.

All stops in Sydenham will now be serviced.

Rockinghorse Rd: this change affects the 5 Southshore service.
Selected trips, until 7pm, from the existing timetable will be extending their route down to the Southshore terminus at the end of Rockinghorse Rd. New school services affecting Avonside Girls High School, Shirley Boys High School and Marian College.
Environment Canterbury, Red Bus Ltd and the Ministry of Education work in partnership to provide services for relocated schools and have revised the schedules and some routes for Avonside Girls, Shirley Boys and Marian College. These changes also take affect from Monday, May 30.
