Squash Players Excel

New Zealand junior squash players are putting in a good showing in Asia with both Megan Craig from Marlborough and Ellie Epk(Auckland) reaching their respective tournament finals at the Penang Junior Open in Malaysia.

Craig, 18 battled past Australia’s Bethany Brazier in four games to reach the final of the under 19 tournament where she will play Malaysia’s Tan Yan Xin who has already been ranked inside the world top 70 professional players.

Epke, 13 who was a finalist at the New Zealand Junior Champs last month in Auckland has reached the under 15 final with a win over Aika Azman(Malaysia) in straight games and will take on another local, Jadeleen Lee in the final.

Last week Craig won the under 19 title at the Junior All-Star tournament in Selangor, Malaysia and Epke the under 15 title at the same event.
