Drivers travelling up and down the Whanganui River Road were stopped and spoken to by Police yesterday evening as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Brett Hall.

Approximately 25 vehicles were stopped between 4pm and 7pm on the Whanganui River Road. The purpose of the operation was to identify vehicles and people who regularly travel the road and who might know Brett or have any information useful to the investigation. The occupants of each vehicle were asked a series of questions and handed a leaflet with details about Brett's disappearance.

Detective Senior Sergeant David Kirby said: "The check-point has been a useful exercise and we will now follow up on any information provided by those people in the vehicles. It will also help to keep Brett Hall in the minds of the local community, generating conversations about his disappearance which will hopefully bring out more pertinent information.

Anyone with information relevant to this investigation is asked to contact the investigation team direct on 0800 PITANGI, email Pitangi@police.govt.nz or text 0272 475843. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
