A field of fifteen has been assembled to contest the NZ$55,000 purse in the second race of the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series at Ellerslie on Saturday, the Listed Cambridge Stud Soliloquy Stakes (1400m).

Amongst the three-year-old fillies lining up on Saturday is Listed ARC Champagne Stakes winner Valpolicella (Red Ransom x Riesling). Starting from barrier four with Gavin McKeon on board, the Roger James trained filly will be having her second run this preparation after coming fifth to the talented Abbey Way (Encosta de Lago x Forlorna) at Taupo on the 14 September.

The regally bred Lovetrista (Rock of Gibraltar x Tristalove) will be ridden by Jason Waddell for John Sargent. The half-sister to stakes winners Viking Ruler, Kempinsky and Diamond Like placed third on debut earlier this month.

Viking Ruler, who stands at Cambridge Stud, is represented by two fillies in the race: the Wayne and Vanessa Hillis trained Pretty Vegas (Viking Ruler x Straight Show) and Graeme and Mark Sanders' stakes placed Tief (Viking Ruler x Azarashi).

Starting from barrier 11 with Craig Grills on board is the Sanders stable's second runner, Critique (Drama Critic x Silk Purse). She is from the family of multiple Group 1 winner Ballroom Babe and is a half-sister to Silk Spur who recently gave her sire, Totara Park Stud's Rusty Spur, a dream start to his stud career by winning her first two starts in impressive fashion.

Seachange's half-sister Keepa Cruisin (Keeper x Just Cruising), who was second in the Group 3 Taranaki 2YO Classic behind Special Mission, lines up for Stephen McKee. Special Mission has since gone on to run second to Diamond Deck in the Highview Stakes.

Stephen McKee is also represented by Boundless (Van Nistelrooy x Nothing Less) who will be having her fifth start after breaking maiden ranks when resuming at Paeroa two weeks ago.

Also lining up are Group 2 Matamata Breeders' Stakes placegetter Khepri (Faltaat x Danaselvam) and Listed Levin RC Ryder Stakes placegetter Agavero (Daggers Drawn x Dan's Amour).

The Matamata stable of Mike and Paul Moroney is another with a two-pronged attack on the Soliloquy. Their lightly tried entrants Sing Song Girl (Generous x Shanghai Girl) and Tootsie (Pins x Hyades), with one and two starts under their belts respectively, will be partnered by Patrick Ferris and Cameron Lammas.

Looking to keep her winning record intact will be debut winner Double or Nothin (Helissio x Unbeleevable) who blitzed her rivals at Ruakaka to win by three-and-a-half lengths. Mark Du Plessis will guide the half-sister to stakes-winner Raspberry Ripple for trainer Frank Ritchie.

Chad Ormsby will take the reins on Russell Cameron and Gareth McRae's entrant, Rathsallagh (O'Reilly x Star of Amarissa). She is looking to break maiden ranks after four starts for two placings.

Taking the big step up into stakes company after one start is Wida's Dream (Faltaat x Satin Pillows) from Robert Priscott's Te Awamutu stable, and the Cydne Evan's trained La Generose (Generous x Fondarose). Wida's Dream's debut run at Paeroa saw her come in fifth to fellow Soliloquy contender, Boundless.

After just one race of the new season's New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series the leader is Group 3 Highview Stakes winner Diamond Deck (Octagonal x Miss Trump) with six points. Tomorrow there will be four points available for first, two for second and one for third.
