SsangYong NZ has become a Gold Partner of the Contact Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge with the major spot prize for the 2011 event a SsangYong Korando SPR.
SsangYong has recently launched the Auto Korando – a diesel SUV – into the New Zealand market and is providing a top of the line Korando SPR as the ‘Win Me’ car at Cycle Challenge plus two more for the use of the Cycle Challenge team and their charity @Heart. The Korean Car manufacturer, known for providing reliable and quality SUV’s and utes, has signed up as a Gold Partner for three years with the Contact Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge.
“We are really excited to be supporting such a prestigious and iconic event. Riding 160km around Lake Taupo is an impressive achievement so it is great to be able to provide one of our Korando SPR’s as a reward for one lucky rider!” said SsangYong NZ General Manager Deon Cooper.
“The all new Korando SUV is a perfect car for those with an active, outdoors lifestyle but who still want comfort, safety and style,” said Mr Cooper. “The Korando is leading its class for towing capacity so great if you tow a boat or horse cart. We think kiwis are going to love it,” he said.

All those that ‘Face the Challenge’ for 2011 and enter the 35th Contact Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge will go into the draw to win the SsangYong Korando SPR. The car will be drawn at the Cycle Challenge prizegiving at 6pm on Saturday 26 November, following the event.
