An increasing amount of consumers in New Zealand spend time and research products online prior to purchasing online or in a regular stores. The popularity of pre-researching products online and shopping comparison have increased the demand for a broader selection of categories available for shopping comparison on PriceMe. "Many users have requested new categories and we have therefore improved our product coverage by adding a diverse range of new categories related to wireless computing and media consumption" says Henrik Johansson of PriceMe.

"Everything related to wireless is very popular this year" says Henrik. "The market penetration of smart phones is already high and the boom in wireless manifests itself for example in the surge of multimedia tablets, which is a category that we recently added to PriceMe and our partner site Android Mobile" explains Henrik. Online shopping using tablets is still relatively low, but a recent survey conducted by PriceMe showed that 16% of smartphone owners use their phone for online shopping and it's likely that tablet owners will "increasingly use their device for online shopping as mobile shopping continues to develop" concludes Henrik.

Other growth areas involve products related to wireless networking and wireless computing. PriceMe now offers shopping comparison on powerlines, wireless access points, wireless TV links and print servers. "There are so many ways that users can access and leverage wireless technologies these days and users have urged us to expand our covereage in these areas" explains Henrik.

The other main trend right now is freeview, which is one of the most sought after keyword on PriceMe the last 30 days. We added freview supported products for digital TV receivers and LCD TVs, so that users more easily can find freeview products.
