ARIA Award-winning songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist songwriter, producer and all-round one-man band Gotye is the music-making mantle of Wally De Backer.

A few years ago he created an album that became something of an underground classic. That defining record, Like Drawing Blood, was voted Triple J listeners' favourite album of 2006, and iTunes UK's Album Of The Year. In 2007 Gotye also won the ARIA Award as Australia's Best Male Artist and the platinum-selling album recently polled at number 11 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 Australian Albums Of All Time.

Gotye's highly anticipated follow up - Making Mirrors - is being lead by the unforgettable song 'Somebody That I Used To Know (feat. Kimbra)'. Equally an exercise in emotional punch and classy restraint, the song features the vocals of rising star Kimbra, and recounts with heartbreaking clarity of the fall-out of a fading relationship. Within weeks of its release, the song's gorgeous video has been embraced globally with 800,000 views online and today it hit #1 on the Australian iTunes chart.

The excitement surrounding the release of Making Mirrors is increasing daily with the recently announced Australian album tour selling out in less than 30 minutes. Second dates for this special tour featuring a new 10-piece orchestra sold out several hours later.

Making Mirrors was created in a studio Wally set up in a barn at his parent’s farm, while a painting by his father features as the album’s cover artwork. Making Mirrors will be available from all good record stores and online from 22 August.
