Fenceposts, plastic tablecloths and jandals - are some of the materials that may be thrown at three WOW designers in Get, Set, Create.

Sean Purucker, from California, and Kiwis Mike Ward, of Nelson, and Wellington designer Sue Prescott will display their off-the-cuff design skills in front of an audience in the Wellington Foyer at Te Papa on Sunday (28 August).

They will have 75 minutes to design a wearable outfit with a theme of Kiwiana using a selection of materials, only revealed to them on the day.

We have organised the show particularly for people who don't have WOW tickets but want to see designers in action.

Aspiring designers can get up close and see how established artists work. Design stations will be set up in the style of Masterchef, and WOW models will show off the finished creations to judges Suzie Moncrieff, the founder of WOW, and Te Papa textiles curator Claire Regnault, in a mini catwalk show.

Admission is free, the show runs from 11.00am to 1.00pm, and there will be spot prizes.
