Ireland call up flanker Shane Jennings

Ireland have called up Leinster's Shane Jennings as a replacement for flanker David Wallace, who suffered a serious knee ligament injury during Ireland's 20-9 defeat by England on Saturday in their last-warm up match before Rugby World Cup 2011.

Wallace would need surgery to repair the damage to his knee, the Irish Rugby Football Union said in a statement.

Jennings' Leinster teammate Cian Healy also took a knock to his eye socket during the England match and the prop is in doubt for Ireland's first RWC 2011 Pool C match against the USA on 11 September. Healy's departure date for the tournament has been put back by four days on medical advice.

Ireland go to New Zealand on the back of four consecutive losses in warm-up matches.
