A 21 year old woman is dead after a car crash overnight on State Highway 41 Tokaanu, south of Taupo.
The crash occurred at about 11.20pm, appears to have only involved the one vehicle.
Police Serious Crash Unit investigated the matter, but it is too early to say if speed or alcohol is involved.
The identity of the woman will not be released until the next of kin have been notified.
