Two RWC 2011 teams hosted in Taupō will open some select training sessions to the public at Owen Delany Park; Wales tomorrow, Tuesday 13 September, from 2.00-4.00pm and South African on both Monday 19 and Monday 26 September from 10.00-11.30am

Staff at Owen Delany Park will be opening the grounds half an hour prior to each public training session so that members of the public can get their seats or find their favourite spot early.

RWC 2011 Host Coordinating Committee Chairman, Mike Downard, says this will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for rugby fans. “You rarely get a chance to get this close to the teams, so please make sure to get down to Owen Delany Park and enjoy this opportunity. You may even score yourself an autograph from one of your heroes.”

The Welsh team arrive in Taupō today, Monday 12 September, before heading to a private dinner hosted by Hatepe Marae.

The Springboks arrive in Taupō on Sunday 18 September for a short two-night stop and then return on Friday 23 September for another five nights, departing finally on Wednesday 28 September.

RWC 2011 Project Manager, Karen Balasoglou, says it is a generous offer from the teams. “We are very fortunate that these teams are allowing us to see behind the scenes training during such an important occasion. We just ask that people respect the teams’ privacy outside these scheduled times.”
