A new trout fishing prize package on offer provides enough quality gear to kit out the whole family.

Fish & Game’s Eastern Region is offering the Kilwell package to promote its family fishing licences.

Anyone who buys a 2011-2012 Family licence from an Eastern Region licence agent (or online from www.fishandgame.org.nz and selecting the ‘Eastern Region’) before 31 December 2011 goes in the draw to win more than $800 worth of Kilwell fishing tackle.

The package provides enough gear for the whole family: two Kilwell Xtreme trolling rods and pre-spooled reels, two Kilwell Xtreme jigging rods and reels, and two TiCA Tracker spinning rods and reels, plus a Buck Silver Creek folding fillet knife.

“That’s enough tackle for family members to go boat or shore fishing with some of the best fishing gear around – we think it provides a very appealing incentive to take the whole family fishing,” says Fish & Game Officer Mark Sherburn.

The winner also receives a half day guided fishing trip on any of the Rotorua lakes with Ngongotaha-based guide Lindsay Lyons (The Ultimate Angler Experience).

The $151 cost of a whole season family licence represents great value – allowing a family of two adults (spouse/partners) and up to four children or grandchildren who are under 18 (on 1/10/2011) to go fishing for a full year, Mark says. “And this generous prize package up for grabs injects a bit of additional fun and suspense into the purchase.”

Also, family licences presented at Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park receive a 10% discount off the cost of a family pass.
