WELLINGTON CITY

Head to the Town Hall and Civic Square this Saturday and experience the Pacific.

A living, breathing Pacific arts village will bring together stunning visual and performance arts, craft, food and businesses from around the Wellington region for Rugby World Cup 2011. The Pacific Artists Collaboration Village will showcase the cultural influence of all Pacific communities.

Browse the arts and crafts market, taste authentic Pacific cuisine from the many food stalls and be entertained by local music groups, including Kabasa and Oku Rootz, performance poets and dancers. Get a uniquely Pacific tattoo to remind you of your Cup experience or buy that special piece of handcrafted jewellery.

Free workshops will run at set times with local artists in poetry writing and performance, music, dance, weaving and screen printing.

To register for the workshops, and find more information on the artists and performers, go to:

Pacific Artists Collaboration Village website

Entry to the village is free.
