Slip blocking road

A slip has occurred on State Highway Two, in the middle of the Taneatua Forest, Bay of Plenty.

The slip is described as being approximately 2.5 kilometres north, towards Whakatäne, of Fraser Road.

Most of the road is blocked and a truck and trailer unit has already crashed into the slip.

Drivers are warned that there will be delays in transiting the area.

Contractors are on their way to the site to clear the debris.
