Whangärei Police are seeking information on an aggravated robbery that took place at the Onerahi Tavern last night.

Just before midnight three people entered the tavern and presented what appeared to be two firearms at five others who were in the premises.

The offenders' faces were covered and they were wearing dark clothing.

After taking an amount of cash the offenders left in a blue station wagon and headed towards the Whangärei Airport at Onerahi.

Police are carrying out a scene examination today and are speaking to witnesses and the victims.

Police are also looking for a vehicle which was stolen from the Kensington Tavern between 7.30pm and 9.30pm yesterday. It is described as a blue Subaru Legacy station wagon, registration number CZT260.

Anyone with information on sightings of this vehicle or any information on the robbery at the Onerahi Tavern, specifically from people who were in and around the tavern last night, can contact Detective Sergeant John Miller on 09 430 4500 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
