Body found at Ohope – referred to Coroner

Eastern Bay of Plenty Police have confirmed that a body was found at Westend Beach, Ohope, yesterday.

He was a 30 year old Whakatane man, but he is not able to be named at this stage.

The Area Commander for Eastern Bay of Plenty Police, Inspector Sandra Venables, says the death is not suspicious and will be referred to the Coroner.

Police will not be making any further comment on the death.
