LK Invests $500K In Christchurch

LK is investing $500k into the Christchurch region by putting its flagship innovatively designed retail store (see images attached) right in the centre of town.

What can people expect? An outdoor deck area with lush landscaping and a sail cloth for shade, an enviable wine range with cellar-only selections, a spirits and liqueurs area where you can research mixology, a knowledge bar to learn about emerging trends and plush leather couches to plan your next function – these are but a few of the features.

“This is a new benchmark for liquor retail in New Zealand,” say McCann. “It also includes an exciting new concept that allows you to take premium tap beer home in specially designed glass bottles (siphons), which can be filled with your favourite beers to enjoy fresh at home, a trend gaining serious legs on the east coast of the US.”

Twenty-two stores have been re-branded by LK in the last 18 months and this concept store will be the jewel in the crown throughout the New Zealand chain. It will open in mid-November at LK Carlton, an area that was hard-hit by the Earthquakes.

“We’ve listened to our store managers, as well as our customers, and combined this with lessons taken from international best practice liquor retail to create an enticing one stop shop,” says McCann.

LK is one of New Zealand’s largest liquor banners with more than 42 stores nationwide, as well as a convenient and comprehensive online delivery site.
