Dust off the togs and break out the sunscreen - it's time for an early summer dip in Thorndon Pool - which opened on Saturday.

Thorndon will have its longest summer season yet with extended daily opening hours. The longer hours will also give swimmers another alternative to Tawa Pool which is closed for maintenance.

The 30-metre heated pool in Murphy Street has space for lane swimming and aqua jogging - perfect for that lunchtime break from the office.
