Bush Multisport playing fields in Pahiatua are moving much closer to becoming an all year round sporting facility, with the approval of the sum of $50,000 for installation of drainage. Council members approved this recommendation at a meeting held on 26 October. Funding is to come from Council reserves, created from the sale of adjoining land in 2009.

The drainage at Bush Multisport playing fields has been causing problems on the No 2 rugby field and the junior soccer field. Drainage will put right the problem that exists at the complex and maintain the playing grounds as an all year round sporting facility. The work - considered a high priority - is to ensure maximum utilisation, reports Colin Veale Community Assets Manager.
