HAMILTON

The $256,000 allocated by Hamilton City Council to a proposed Hamilton to Auckland commuter rail link is specifically for infrastructure, should the service go ahead, and not the service itself, as indicated in the Hamilton City Council statement send to media last week. The $256,000 was collected from ratepayers in the 2009/10 year and is being held in a dedicated account for that purpose.
