LOWER HUTT

At about 6.50pm on the 14th of November 2011, 6 people arrived at a Cambridge Terrace, Waiwhetu address in Lower Hutt, in a van, armed with sledge-hammers and crow-bars.

They smashed their way through the front door into the address, which was occupied by 5 people, and then assaulted them before taking cell-phones from the occupants.

The offenders then left the area in a vehicle described as a dark blue van with stickers on the back, heading towards Whites Line East on Cambridge Terrace.

Police are following a positive line of enquiry, but would be keen to hear from any members of the public who may have seen or heard anything in this area at this time, particularly any information in regards to the movements of a blue van, or any occupants from this vehicle, between 6.30pm & 7.30pm this evening.

Any information can be passed to Detective Sergeant Tebbutt at the Lower Hutt Police Station on (04) 560 4900.
