LOWER HUTT

Lower Hutt Police have arrested three men in connection to a home invasion at a Cambridge Terrace house last night.

Detective Sergeant Anthony Tebbutt of the Lower Hutt CIB says it's alleged that at about 6.50pm last night, six people smashed their way into the house, armed with a sledge-hammer and crow-bars and assaulting the occupants.

"This afternoon, Police have arrested two men, aged 22 years, at a central Lower Hutt address and a further 22 year old male at a Wainuiomata address. We are currently speaking with these three men and a charge of aggravated burglary is likely to be laid later this evening."

Detective Sergeant Tebbutt says enquiries are continuing and further arrests are likely.

Anyone with any information in relation to last night's incident should phone Lower Hutt Police on (04) 560 2600 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
