Returning Officer Warwick Lampp, of electionz.com Ltd, has declared the final results of the 2011 Fonterra Board of Directors’, Directors’ Remuneration Committee and Shareholders’ Council elections.

Shareholders voted to re-elect incumbent Directors Jim van der Poel and John Monaghan. They will be joined by new Director David MacLeod.

David, aged 43, lives near Hawera in South Taranaki and is a Director of PKW Farms Ltd, one of Fonterra’s largest shareholders. David has governance experience with Port Taranaki and Greaves Electrical, and is the current Chairman of the Taranaki Regional Council and a National Council member of Local Government New Zealand. David was elected to the Taranaki Regional Council in 2001, and in 2007 was appointed to the Chairmanship, making him the youngest council chair ever elected in New Zealand.

Shareholders Philip Wilson and Murray Holdaway were re-elected unopposed as members of the Directors’ Remuneration Committee.

Ward 16 – Rotorua Greg Mitchell
Ward 22 – Central Taranaki Noel Caskey
Ward 25 – Northern Manawatu Ellen Bartlett
Ward 26 – Hawke’s Bay Sandra Cordell
Ward 31 – Mid Canterbury Charles Whitehead

Of the above, Noel Caskey, Sandra Cordell and Charles Whitehead are new Shareholders’ Councillors.
