Tauranga - assault

At about 3am on the 27th November 2011 Tauranga Police responded to a call for assistance from a member of the public who was at a local bar known as De Bier House, situated on The Strand, Tauranga.

Upon arrival they discovered that a young man had been assaulted and that as a result of this assault he required medical treatment from Ambulance. He was transported to Tauranga hospital for further treatment and as a result of the initial investigation a 20 year old male from Mt Maunganui has been arrested and charged with this assault.

The offender is due to appear in the Tauranga District Court on Monday the 28th November 2011.

The Police investigation into this assault is continuing and Police ask that anyone in the bar at the time of the assault or who may have information they believe to be of value to the investigation to contact the investigating officer on 577 8082.
