Vehicle strikes Pedestrian

At about 9.17 pm this evening a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on State Highway 17 near Dairy Flat, Auckland.

The incident occurred near the intersection with Horseshoe Bush Road.

Despite first aid by an off duty Police Officer the 18 year old male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The serious crash unit are on scene and investigating, to assist this State Highway 17 is now closed with detours in place.

No further details will be released until police enquires are completed.
