Two truck collission

Police in Hamilton advise the details of one of the men killed in a collision between two trucks on SH26 at Newstead, on the outskirts of Hamilton this morning, the 2nd December 2011.

He was:

Hugh Leonard Ferguson, 61 years of age, of Hamilton.

Mr Ferguson was driving an east bound truck travelling from Hamilton towards Morrinsville, while another truck was travelling west bound. Enquiries will focus on what caused the west bound truck to cross the centre line into the path of Mr Ferguson.

Police are unable to release the details of the second driver as his immediate next of kin have not yet been advised.

An 18 year old passenger of the east bound truck received minor injuries.
