Rotorua Police investigate after body found

Rotorua Police are investigating after a body was found at approximately 2:30pm yesterday afternoon at a vacant backpackers site in Tyron Street, Whakarewarewa Village, Rotorua.

Police were called to the site and have recovered a body.

At this stage there is nothing to suggest the death is suspicious however, Police are following the appropriate process to determine all the facts.

There will be no further media update today.
