Tim Edgell battled through a challenging Saturday at Ruapuna, qualifying fourth before fighting hard with Australian V8 Supercar star Jason Bargwanna to finish 3rdin the Race 1 of the weekend’s three races.

“We had a great battle with Bargwanna and managed to get past him, unfortunately we didn’t quite have the car to make the pass stick and had to settle for 3rd.”

The Chesters Ford Falcon driver has struggled with grip this weekend leaving the team frustrated at their inability to back up the pace they showed in the first round of the championship.

“We are improving every time we take the car out, but the car just isn’t using its tyres hard enough, at the moment it’s feels like we’re driving around on greasy track.”

It’ll undoubtedly be a late night for the crew as they search to find the speed that saw them dominate in the dry at Pukekohe.

“We’re going to try a different setup in the car for the shakedown session in the morning. If we can get the car to grip up we’ll be flying.”

The green flag drops on Races 2 and 3 of round two of the BNT NZV8 Championship this afternoon with Edgell hungry to put the Chesters Ford Falcon back on the top step of the podium.
