WANAKA

Statement from Logan, Sue and Cody Latta

Logan, Sue and Cody Latta would like to thank Dion's friends, Wanaka Search and Rescue and Dunedin Hospital's ICU team for their tireless efforts for Dion.

Messages of goodwill and support from throughout the country, especially from friends, family and the John McGlashan College community, have been overwhelming. These messages have not gone unnoticed and are appreciated.

Dion was a lively, sporty young man from a rural background. He packed many things into his short life, which he lived to the full. He loved farming, fishing, hunting, rugby and running. It was his courage and determination that made him such a talented all rounder.

His passing leaves a huge hole in our lives. He is irreplaceable and will always be missed.

The Lattas have made this short statement as a result of many media inquiries. They are now asking for privacy from the media to allow them to grieve for Dion.

Media are requested not to attend Dion's funeral. The Lattas thank you for respecting this request.

A photo of Dion is available from the Otago Daily Times picture desk on request. Phone (03) 479 3505 extn 8132 or email odtpix@odt.co.nz

Any further media inquiries should be made to family spokesman Murray Kirkness 0275 252 070.
