Serious crash

At about 7.30 p.m. on 8th January 2012 Invercargill emergency services were called to the scene of a serious crash involving a freight truck and a motor vehicle.

The Waimatua/Gorge Road corner intersection is the scene of this crash.

The truck has caught fire and the Fire Service are in attendance.

A female is trapped in the vehicle and the Fire Service are currently using the jaws of life to extract her with St John Ambulance and Police present.

The Gorge Rd Highway and the Kennington-Waimatua Road is closed until further notice.
