New Zealand printing company Panprint has won awards in two categories at the World Label Awards, continuing its prolific award winning performance.
Panprint won awards in the Class 11 (Offset line screen) and Class 10 (offset line) categories for the wine labels Totara Sauvignon Blanc 2010 and Full Circle Sauvignon Blanc 2010.
The World Label Awards welcomes entries in 27 categories from the USA, Japan, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and India, with the criteria for entry being that each entry must have won a national award first.
John Lowther, Panprint general manager, said: “We’re proud of the quality of work we produce at Panprint, and these awards are a recognition of all the hard work our staff put in.”
Panprint, a division of Blue Star Group New Zealand, has also upgraded its facilities as part of its recent move to a new state of the art factory in Mt Wellington.
The company’s new facility will be the most modern label printing facility in New Zealand once fully operational, with the latest wide web printing equipment technology from Europe.
“The management and staff are excited to be moving to the premises where they can use the latest printing technology. In addition, the company will make significant cost savings through more efficient production flow, lighting and air conditioning at the new address,” Mr Lowther said.
Panprint, which employs 27 full time staff, had been operating at the previous location in Panmure for the past 54 years.
David Jupe, Blue Star New Zealand chief executive, said, “This is a historic occasion for Panprint. The awards prove again why it is one of our most awarded print companies, while the move to a new high-quality leading edge printing facility will bring even greater achievements for it.”
The company supplies to the wine, food and pharmaceutical industries and has gained a reputation for quality and a 'can do' attitude since its establishment in 1956.
It has won more awards than any other printing company at the coveted Pride in Print Industry awards with 62 gold medals and 132 highly commended, was a three times supreme award finalist and once a supreme award winner.
“It is a testament to the staff’s belief in the company that they have consistently produced high standard of work over the years that has won several awards,” Mr Lowther added.
The list of Panprint’s customers includes some of New Zealand’s best known and respected companies like Pernod Ricard (Brancott Estate, Stoneleigh), Mudhouse Wines, Mt Riley, Marisco Vineyards and Endeavour Vineyards.
