Riverside Market on Waitangi Sunday after Doobie Brothers and LRB concert

Waitangi weekend is set to be a busy one for the Taupō District, with the Taupō Summer Concert featuring double international rock line up The Doobie Brothers and Little River Band on Saturday 4 February and the Riverside Market now on Sunday 5 February from 10.00am.

Taupō’s Riverside Market, usually held each Saturday, is situated on the picturesque Riverside Park Reserve and runs from 10.00am to 1.00pm. The market is a weekly feature on the Taupō calendar with stallholders from Taupo and surrounding districts offering farmers market products as well as a wide variety of general goods for sale. The market will be moving to Sunday 5 February on Waitangi Weekend due to the Taupō Summer Concert on Saturday 4 February held next door at the Taupō Amphitheatre. Taupō Summer Concert promoter Amanda Calvert says they are grateful for the cooperation of the Riverside Market and will be encouraging concert goers to support the market on Sunday. Ticket sales for the concert have already reached over 10,000.

“Things are progressing really well and we are looking forward to concert day. Taupō is an ideal location for a summer concert and concert goers will be spoilt for things to do and see when they visit for the long weekend,” says Amanda.
