Plus4 Insurance Solutions (Plus4), the national insurance broking and financial adviser group, today announced that Wellington adviser Steve Tarpley has joined Plus4 further boosting the group’s Wellington presence.

An insurance broker and Registered Financial Adviser, Steve is the principal of Tarpley Insurances, which he established in 2003. Prior to that, he was a principal of brokerage company Crest Financial Brokers, which he and three other advisers set up 1999. Steve specialises in providing life, trauma, income protection, health, and fire and general insurance cover.

Plus4’s chairman Grant Uridge said, “Steve is a well-known and highly regarded insurance adviser
with over 30 years’ experience. Given that Plus4 is a cooperative, the only specialist insurance and financial broking firm who is a member of the NZ Cooperatives Association, we are very selective about whom we ask to join our group. They need to not only share our values but also have the necessary experience and expertise, as each member has an equal shareholding in Plus4.”

Established in 2008 in Nelson, Plus4 now has over 25 advisers working from 10 locations between Whangarei and Invercargill. Group members, who have no affiliations to any specific insurance provider, offer unbiased advice tailored to their individual and business clients’ requirements. They work predominantly with small to medium sized enterprises, their owners and their accountants.

Steve Tarpley said, “Joining Plus4 will enhance our offering by providing access to Plus4’s systems and processes, as well as the benefit of being part of a group of like-minded professionals.

Grant Uridge said, “We are pleased to welcome Steve to Plus4. While we have experienced significant growth over the past four years and are currently in discussion with several other adviser firms, we’re not pursuing growth as an end in itself. Instead, we’ve elected to focus on building enduring client relationships based on well-researched advice to ensure our clients get the best outcomes when it matters.”
