WELLINGTON CITY

Wellington Police investigating the aggravated robbery of Khandallah Post Shop yesterday have released CCTV images of the offender in an effort to identify him.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Jason Perry of the Wellington CIB says shortly before 2:30pm yesterday afternoon, a male entered the Post Shop and presented a firearm at an employee and demanded cash. The offender then left with an undisclosed amount of money.

"We would like to hear from anyone who may know the identity of the male in these attached CCTV images or who has any information in relation to yesterday's incident. We urge those people to come forward and speak with Police as soon as possible."

The offender is described as being in his mid-20's, olive-skinned of thin build and average height. He was wearing black jeans, white shoes, a black hooded sweatshirt with a red t-shirt underneath and a black beanie. It's possible he had a tattoo on his neck.

Anyone with any information should phone Wellington Police on (04) 381 2000 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
