Christchurch City Council advises that a burst water mains on Blenheim Road, between Clarence and Mandeville Streets, is causing traffic congestion and that repairs could take up to 24 hours.

At the scene of the burst water mains:
City-bound lanes on Blenheim Road have been closed.
West-bound (away from the City) on Blenheim Road has been reduced to one lane.

Blenheim Road traffic is being diverted north onto Clarence Street, and south onto Whiteleigh Ave.

There is traffic congestion in the above areas, plus at the following locations:
* Riccarton roundabout (at Riccarton Road/Deans Ave)
* Riccarton Road
* Lincoln Road/Barrington Street intersection

Motorists are urged to stay clear of those areas and to use alternate routes.
