Fatal Crash: Pedestrian was struck by a train

At just after 4pm this afternoon a pedestrian was struck by a train near the New Lynn.

The train has been stopped and is partially blocking Portage Road.

The Police Serious Crash Unit are investigating.

Police are also making enquires to identify the deceased.

Trains to West Auckland will be disrupted and travellers are urged to be patient.

Police will not be making further comment until next of kin have been notified.
