MANAWATU District Council is to seek feedback again from people who have dealt with its Building Services department as it looks to continue an effective, efficient and friendly service.

The customer survey – a second for the district following a similar exercise in 2010 – centres on applications for Project Information Memoranda (PIMs), building consents, Certificates of Acceptances, Certificates for Public Use, Code Compliance Certificates, provision of building information or advice and building complaints.

Regulatory Supervisor Karel Boakes said nearly 600 survey forms are to be posted out next Thursday (March 1) to all customers who had received a building consent or Code Compliance Certificate in 2011.

The survey form would also be available at the customer service desk at the council’s administration building in Manchester Street, Feilding, and online via its website, www.mdc.govt.nz. Council hopes to receive all feedback by April 30.

Ms Boakes said the survey was based around quality in customer service and obviously encompassed many of the areas in Building Services.

Approachability and friendliness, efficiency and timeliness, formal communication, technical skill and competency, information and education and value for money were some of the services to be rated.

“We have to capture the same information as last time because of accreditation requirements,” she said.

Ms Boakes was hoping for a strong response that matched or bettered the 2010 survey when ratings of “good” or “very good” were recorded in 53 to 80 percent of the areas covered.
