HAMILTON

Sally Fallon-Morell, co founder of the Weston A Price Foundation and author of the best-selling book "Nourishing Traditions", will give her final talk in New Zealand on the 4th April at Hamilton’s Clarence St Theatre.
The Weston A Price Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to restoring nutrient-dense foods to our diet through education, research and activism. Sally will be talking about the pioneering work of Dr Weston A Price (The Charles Darwin of nutrition)
In Nourishing Traditions Sally dispels the cholesterol myth and the common belief that cholesterol is a leading cause of heart disease. The “experts” assure us that the lipid hypothesis is backed by incontrovertible scientific proof. Most people would be surprised to learn however that there is, in fact, very little evidence to support the claim that a diet low in cholesterol and saturated fat actually reduces death from heart disease or in any way increases one’s life span. The cholesterol myth is considered by many scientists, nutrition experts and medical professionals to be the biggest lie we’ve been told by our Doctors, yet it is an unpopular view due to industry pressure by both Big Pharma and multinational food giants.
The raw milk debate in New Zealand is gaining interest by many with the current food bill before parliament as well as MAF’s proposal to the changes in the rules around farmers selling raw milk. Sally recently took part in a debate at Harvard Law School on the health benefits of raw milk, where she explained that unpasteurized milk contains cofactors that are required for the body to absorb vital nutrients from milk which are destroyed through pasteurization. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLRdihFi6gw&context=C34d609eADOEgsToPDskKldOT0LgeJ9pGStYY2P77G
When Sally arrives in New Zealand (on the 22nd March) she will be interviewed on Campbell Live and on The National Radios Saturday morning show with Kim Hill. Sally will be asking why New Zealand, leaders in the dairy industry, are still behind the times when it comes to legislation on the sale of raw or unpasteurised milk, when in Europe it is promoted by government agencies for its health giving attributes. New Zealand lobbyists for raw milk would like to see it more easily accessible or at least for sale at Farmers Markets.
“There are so many myths around raw milk we are aiming to bring awareness too. Firstly we have the technology to ensure raw milk is clean and free of pathogenic microbes, and secondly that all milk is equal. When you truly understand the difference between a health giving product like ‘living’ raw milk and the world’s leading food allergen, pasteurised and homogenised milk, it is like night and day. One product nourishes and gives the health when the other potentially takes away from health” says Deborah Murtagh from, Healthy Kitchen who is sponsoring Sally’s presentation.
Rodney Hide recently lost a lot of weight and has never felt more fit and healthy, has done so by following the WAPF diet, drinking raw milk, enjoying animal fats and cultured foods. Rodney will open Sally’s talks in Auckland and Wellington as well as helping Sally lobby New Zealand politicians to deregulate the sale of raw milk.
This talk is a must for anyone interested in learning more about their food and its nutritional value. Adults with depression and parents of children with dyslexia, autism and other gut brain disorders should also attend to learn how they can affect natural change through diet.
Preceding Sally will be her husband Geoffrey Morell - with a talk and demonstration on Healing for the Millions from 4:30pm to 6pm with Sally’s presentation starting at 6.30pm
