Female has critical injuries after hit and run

AUCKLAND

A 27 year old female has suffered critical injuries as a result of being struck by a motor vehicle on Morrin Road, St Johns at approximately 5.15am this morning, Saturday 03 March 2012.

The vehicle failed to stop after hitting the female victim. Police say the motor vehicle has been described as a grey sedan or station wagon, possibly a Ford Falcon.

It is likely to have suffered frontal damage. It was last seen on College Road heading in the direction of College Road, St Johns.

Glen Innes CIB are investigating the incident and would like to speak to anyone who was at the Lepuha Nightclub on Morrin Road.

They appeal to anyone who may have seen any vehicle leaving the car park at the Nightclub around 5.00am or who has any information regarding this incident, to contact Detective Sergeant James Robson, Glen Innes CIB at phone numbers, (09)524 1936 or 027 496 7886 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.

Police will make no further comment at this time.
